Tony has nearly 40 years of experience as an investigator, consultant and educator specializing in traffic crash reconstruction. His law enforcement career began as a Military Police officer the US Army, and continued with Henry County (IL) Sheriff's Department and Bloomington IL Police Department, on the Crash Investigation teams. He became a death investigator while serving as Chief Deputy Coroner with McLean County (IL) Coroner's Office and eventually oversaw the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.
Additionally, he served many years with the Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM) as an instructor, Traffic Section Coordinator and Associate Director. During his time at IPTM, Tony developed and delivered curriculum in the field of traffic crash reconstruction and investigation, including IPTM's Advanced Pedestrian/Bicycle Crash Investigation Course based on his years of research in the area of Ped/Cyclist Crash Investigation. His publications, Fundamentals of Pedestrian / Cyclist Traffic Crash Reconstruction and Lamp Examination for Traffic Collision Investigators have been widely used in the field.
Tony established Forensic Training Group in 2016 and became Managing Partner in 2023. He is a qualified expert instructor for any of the classes that Forensic Training Group offers.
Tony holds a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration and is ACTAR certified.
Steve retired after 23 years as a police officer with the Ontario Provincial Police in Canada. In 2022, Steve started Truck Crash Specialists LLC and is now residing in Oklahoma, providing consulting services for Sooner Crash Consulting and Reconstruction LLC.
Mr. Anderson has been an instructor with Forensic Training Group since 2018, and commencing in 2023, became a full partner. He is a qualified expert instructor for any of the classes that Forensic Training Group offers.
Steve is a collision reconstructionist and has been conducting these duties since 2006, having had a hand in reconstructing over 700 collisions. He has assisted in the completion of 100 live instrumented crash tests including vehicle, motorcycle, heavy vehicle, cyclist, pedestrian and barrier systems and 69 tests with collision mitigation systems.
Steve received a full accreditation as a Traffic Accident Reconstructionist with the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR) in 2011. His passion is with Heavy Vehicle Event Data Recorders and their analysis and has been qualified numerous times as an expert in this field.
Steve is a member-producer of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and serves on the J2728 Standard Truck and Bus Event Data Recorder Committee.
James retired after 23 years law enforcement experience with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, obtaining the rank of Lieutenant. He is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR) and is a Certified Heavy Truck Technician though the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). James has previously served as a CVSA level one truck inspector and has reconstructed hundreds of traffic crashes. He has testified as an expert in both state and federal courts.
Mr. Loftis joined Forensic Training Group in 2017 as an instructor and became a full partner in 2023. He is a qualified expert instructor for any of the classes that Forensic Training Group offers.
James has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and holds an Advanced Law Enforcement certification through the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training.
Scott owns and operates Collision Consulting and Reconstruction LLC which provides consultation services in civil cases. Previously he served with the Oregon State Police for 30 years and retired as a Sergeant. During his tenure with OSP, Scott was a CVSA level one truck inspector and managed the Heavy Truck Collision Reconstruction Team.
Upon his retirement from the Oregon State Police, he managed the statewide collision reconstruction program and its 40 members. Scott is also retired from the Idaho State Police after serving for 4 years as their Collision Reconstruction Program Manager in a civilian capacity.
Mr. Skinner has been an instructor for Forensic Training Group since it began in 2016, and became a full partner in 2023. He is a qualified expert instructor for any of the classes that Forensic Training Group offers.
He holds an Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement, plus an Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate from the Board of Public Safety Standards and Training. He became accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR) in 1994 and served on the Governing Board of Directors for over 10 years to include being Chairman of the GBOD.
Anthony Barnes is a retired Sergeant from the North Carolina Highway Patrol. During his 28 years of service with the NCHP, he served as a collision reconstructionist and a CVSA inspector and investigated over 2000 collisions.
Anthony specializes in the field of Event Data Recorders in both passenger and heavy trucks and has testified as an expert in both State and Federal court.
He has also assisted in over 80 live crash tests validating EDR data for conferences and classes.
Anthony earned a Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Robeson Community College.
John has over 34 years of law enforcement experience, serving with the Michigan State Police since 1987. He was a full time crash reconstructionist and held the rank of Spl/Sgt with the Traffic Crash Reconstruction unit. His work has been recognized by Governors Traffic Safety Advisory Commission with a Lifetime Achievement Award in Traffic Safety.
He has an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from Northern Michigan University and is certified by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstructionists (ACTAR). He formerly served on the ACTAR Governing Board of Directors and is the past chairperson for the Theory Test Committee. He also serves on the Michigan Association of Traffic Accident Investigators (MATAI) Board of Directors.
Marc Edgcombe was first introduced to Accident Investigation and Reconstruction in 2009 when he assisted in the design and construction of a remote-controlled S-10 pickup truck for a Michigan Association of Traffic Accident Investigators (MATAI) Conference crash test. During that conference, he remotely operated that S-10 pickup at 55 miles per hour for a live crash test. He then went on to attend and complete Michigan State University's Accident Investigation and Reconstruction program and other training courses.
Mr. Edgcombe started working as a Crash Reconstructionist in 2014 with Traffic Reconstruction and Transportation Compliance (TRTC) in Byron Center, MI, working both plaintiff and defense cases as well as criminal defense and insurance cases. He is accredited through the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstructionists (ACTAR).
Mr. Edgcombe has been qualified in court as an expert in Crash Reconstruction and currently handles cases all over the United States, including Alaska and the US Virgin Islands. He specializes in crashes involving commercial vehicles, but also handles pedestrian, motorcycle, and passenger vehicle crashes.
He is also a licensed CDL driver and has driven tractor trailer professionally and is a certified CDL Trainer in the State of Michigan
Brian is a Master Sergeant with over 28 years of accident investigation experience with the Oklahoma City Police Department. He is currently assigned to the Signal 30 Unit reconstructing fatal traffic collisions.
Brian also provides consulting services in accident reconstruction through Collision Dynamics, LLC. He has investigated in excess of 2,500 traffic collisions, and has been active in accident reconstruction training, as well as curriculum development, since 2006.
Brian holds an Associate’s Degree in Police Science from Oklahoma State University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Oklahoma. He is accredited by the Accreditation Commission on Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR), and has achieved the Certificate in Accident Reconstruction from the Society of Automotive Engineers. Brian has served on the Board of
Directors for the National Association of Professional Accident Reconstruction Specialists {NAPARS) since 2021.
Greg retired as a Sergeant from the St. Paul, MN Police Department after a 26 year career in law enforcement. He is currently the principal crash reconstructionist for Northwest Crash Analysis, LLC. located in St Croix Falls, WI.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville in 1989 and has held full accreditation from ACTAR as a Traffic Accident Reconstructionist since 1994. He is also a member of several crash reconstruction associations and has successfully completed specialized training in numerous areas related to crash investigation and reconstruction. He specializes in crash investigation, pedestrian-bicycle crash reconstruction, computer simulation and animation, 3D scanning and forensic mapping, forensic diagramming, and using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
William Messerschmidt is a former police officer and traffic homicide investigator. After serving the City of Auburn with distinction for 8 years, Mr. Messerschmidt left government service to work with the late Dr. Edward L. Robinson where his work was focused on the investigation and analysis of commercial and heavy vehicle crashes. While working alongside the physicists and engineers at Robinson & Associates, Bill was introduced to Dr. Jeffery Muttart and almost immediately went back to school for the study of Human Factors Psychology and Engineering.
Since that time, Bill has studied Human Factors, focusing on transportation and industrial safety, at the University of Idaho, Emory-Riddell Aeronautical University, and The University of Aberdeen.
Today, Bill’s Accident Reconstruction work is primarily focused on applying Human Factors science to the analysis of traffic crashes and industrial accidents.

Mike Reade retired in 2000 after 26 years of service with the Royal Canadian Mounted
Police (RCMP). During that time, Mike investigated 1000’s of collisions and was in
charge of full-time reconstruction duties (1991-2000) for Eastern New Brunswick.
As principal & owner of Forensic Reconstruction Specialists Inc. (FRSI), located in Riverview, New Brunswick, Mike provides consulting services, specializing in several collision disciplines (crash reconstruction, forensic drawing, and simulation (Virtual CRASH). He has been involved in pedestrian/cyclist testing, research, and training since 2000.
During his time (1993-2022) as an adjunct instructor with the University of North Florida - Training Services (IPTM), Mike co-developed the Advanced Pedestrian/Bicycle Crash Investigation Course as well as co-authored the Fundamentals of Pedestrian/Cyclist Traffic Crash Reconstruction publication with Tony Becker, which has become a top seller amongst reconstructionists in the field.

reconstructionist’ s toolboxes.
Jason Riddle retired from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol with 23 years of experience. During this time, he has been actively involved in the field of traffic crash reconstruction.
Jason has reconstructed more than 300 traffic collisions and has provided training to law enforcement officers in the field of traffic crash reconstruction.
He specializes in the field of event data recorders in both passenger cars and heavy trucks. He has testified as an expert in court and frequently assists police officers and state troopers.
Jason is accredited by the Accreditation Committee for Traffic Accident Reconstruction.
Bob Scurlock has been consulting in motor vehicle accidents for over a decade. He has been certified by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR), and has also been certified by the Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM) in Event Data Recorder (EDR) use in Traffic Crash Reconstruction, Human Factors, Occupant Kinematics, Pedestrian Crash Investigation, Bicycle Crash Investigation, and Motorcycle Crash Investigation. He is a member of the National Association of Professional Accident Reconstruction Specialists (NAPARS), the Maryland Association of Traffic Accident Investigators (MdATAI), the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and the American Physical Society (APS). He has provided guidance in algorithm design and implementation of accident reconstruction software to leading corporations in the forensic technology sector. Dr. Scurlock is also the CEO of vCRASH, Americas, Inc., a distributor of Virtual CRASH software, and Crash Animation Studios, Inc., a producer of forensic animations.
